Master's Excerpts

Guruji 4

"One who is deeply relaxed cannot hate, he cannot be violent. Love and other virtues can spring only from a silent and pure heart. A mind in turmoil, a sad heart cannot give love and compassion. How to achieve the inner peace, love and other virtues? Let us dig inside ourselves, for the Kingdom of God is like a hidden treasure. One has to dig and remove the inner dirt so as to achieve it. The digging is not to be done outside but inside. The meditation techniques, done properly, represent this digging ...."

Meditation is the art of living in and as the present moment, It is just to be and by doing so, one become united to the presence that vibrates in all atoms of the existence. Swami Paramananda

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Body and mind are the periphery of the cyclone. Consciousness is the seer, the centre and the silent witness. The whole science of Yoga is to transcend the limitations of body and mind to attain the centre.
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

To behold the moon, it is important to look beyond the finger. Similarly, it is important to go beyond religion to attain God. But man is so engrossed in his dream-world owing to his mind which is 95.5% unconscious, that he blindly performs the religious practices without understanding and awareness.

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
The greatest sacrifice is to dissolve all the animal instincts in us so as to go beyond the illusive self or the 'I" created by the assemblage of all these tendencies, thus enabling the Divine in us to shine forth.
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

But I say unto you that your inner nature is only a challenge. Nobody is here to judge anyone- even God does not judge. Man has the power to choose, to discriminate, he can decide to move outside in the illusory world and suffer to his heart's content or he can choose to regain his lost paradise.

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
"Man, you are seeking bliss, peace, power and eternal life. That you already are! -Tat twam asi" Take cognizance of your real nature and get disentangled from this nightmarish situation. The way to it is very simple.
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

Since most people are ignorant of the occult side of their being, they are carried away by powerful emotions, thus causing much harm to their body, heart and mind. Many illnesses are caused by the absence of body, mind and heart relaxation. Any material method will give only little and temporary relief from stress and other illnesses produced by the absence of relaxation. The ultimate solution is always meditation.

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Meditation
"Meditation is the only thing that cannot be taken away, not even by death"
"Meditation is neither a religion nor a practice, it is neither done, nor can be taught: it is not learned. For the purpose and convenience of language, let it be said that it has to be realised."
"Meditation is the highest peak of human consciousness. Enlightenment is the culmination point where meditator and meditation merge with God. The experience ofmeditation is the Experience of the state of Pure Consciousness"
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

"Man either performs action or he sleeps. Seldom or never does he relax. That which is beyond activity and sleep is called relaxation. Relaxation is the state of rest for the body, mind and heart"

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
"Possessiveness is the result of an unconscious mind, therefore if we want to transcend it, we must go beyond consciousness. People live under the illusion that things belong to them. If only we realise that even our own thoughts and body are not ours, then there can be a possibility to go beyond attachment."
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

Mind

"What is mind? Some believe it is a by-product of the brain. In truth, it is nothing but another state of soul and is its instrument"

"Man does not really see with his two eyes but with the mind, the eyes being a medium. The mind sees through the eyes, which are like windows"

"A meditative mind leads to one's centre, which is the source of all virtues. For only a placid, peaceful and blissful mind can perceive truth. Such a mind is intelligent and unfolds the secret of all forms"

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
"Non-violence is the state of a meditative or awakened mind. It is not a practice but a virtue that results from an overflow of awareness. The realisation of the oneness of life leads to non-violence"
"Any form of repression implies violence. Such violence is dangerous to both the individual and society"
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

Life

"Human life is an opportunity forsouls to experience their divine nature"

"Life is a celebration: to participate in it, oneness with it is essential. At that stage, the whole of life becomes miraculous and each moment one tastes the flavour or a fulfilled life"

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Quotes on solitude
"We are always alone in our real nature. Everything is fleeting and passing away, save our soul. Therefore, do not be drowned by attachment"
"Solitude is a master key in the practice of meditation. It is the only moment during which the mind is easily turned upon itself"
"Solitude is a door that can lead one into deep reflection on the nature of Truth"
"Why do people avoid loneliness and silence? It is because in these particular moments our real face manifests"
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

It is said that man is a social animal, to which I agree, but that is not the whole truth. Man is a potential, not only does he conceal the possibility of becoming animal, but also of becoming divine. This is an irony: the more we are moving further in scientific development, the more man is becoming barbarous.

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
When the mental and emotional activities are completely transformed and sublimated through scientific and spiritual methods, then meditation ensues. Though devoid of all forms, it is the cradle of infinite creativity. Therefore, one who has attained meditation becomes both completely relaxed and creative.
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

Ignorance of our spiritual being has become a curse that may end up making this marvellous place as our earth become a vestige. Is this what we call civilisation? Can't we see that all the means have failed? Why not try spirituality or mysticism? So many institutions, religious, social, governmental and others have found the day. Where have they led to?

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Occult knowledge of both feminine and masculine psyche is of paramount importance, for only this will make one understand that man and woman are not equal, but they are divine potentials which can be unfolded using their own natural tendencies.
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

It is said that man is a social animal, to which I agree, but that is not the whole truth. Man is a potential, not only does he conceal the possibility of becoming animal, but also of becoming divine. This is an irony: the more we are moving further in scientific development, the more man is becoming barbarous.

During meditation, the energies that were flowing out through our senses change direction to move inwards. The mental energy, too, is turned upon itself. Therefore, meditation is a change of flux of mental and sensual energy. Simple yet deeply scientific and spiritual in nature, it can make us become a god!

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
When shall we understand that 95.5% of unconsciousness is not a child's play to do away with? Psychology and religion will have to join forces so as to help to make the greatest revolution in the psyche of man on an international level. A global mind change is the only thing that can save us from the apocalyptic prediction of St. John.
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

"Man and woman, do not consider each other as your enemy, otherwise you may gain nothing but failure. Be ready not to conquer each other, but to merge your forces for your own goodness. Your marriage should be in body, mind, heart and soul, while bearing in mind your freedom."

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Meditation,which is to live as Pure Consciousness, dissolves feelings and thoughts which are useless and come as a cascade of energy from the depth of our being. A meditative mind acts as a check for any feelings or thoughts that go in and come out. A meditative mind is an enlightened mind. An enlightened mind is free from the mud of unconsciousness. From " Mind and Brain "
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

The whole of our life can be flooded with the light of consciousness and we can be eternally happy if we happen to turn our gaze inwards. More than 80% of mental energy flows out through hearing, seeing and other sensual activities. By changing the flow of energy from outer to inner, a great transformation is possible. A few hours of meditation per day will produce the above effect. The tap of mental energy should be closed to the outer world and directed inwards. This practice demands no belief in any gods. The whole of religion is an inner phenomenon, the outer layer of religion always points towards the inner journey. "Be a lamp unto thyself" – how exactly this saying of the Buddha fits in this context! When an atom explodes, the result is the atomic bomb. What will happen if the mind explodes? Cosmic consciousness! From The Photo-Electric Effect

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
All emotions and moods come from within, therefore it is there that we must focus our attention. It is only a question of directing our consciousness inside. Presently, you are looking at, listening to and feeling the external world. Be in a silent place, close your eyes and feel whatever feelings, thoughts or moods arise in you. Do this exercise especially when an emotion or mood arises inside, such as when you are angry or sad or are feeling lazy. As you observe your emotions, you will feel a sort of heat or suffocation. That will be due to the fact that they are being 'burnt" or transformed. And if your observation is intense, the emotions will disappear and you will feel more attentiveness and silence inside. Try it, you have nothing to lose, everything to gain. There is a whole science about how to expand your consciousness so as to dissolve your whole unconscious layer. That is called 'the science of meditation'. It includes a whole range of practices in view to have enough energy to ignite and in flame awareness. Consciousness is our real eye. The clearer it becomes, the better will be our inner perception and understanding.
~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~

Therefore,if we wish to have a thorough understanding of human nature, we have to sharpen or expand our awareness. Only that can transform the individual and thus society at large. If there is any education we have to give to people in view of making them a sane, responsible, loving, intelligent and free creature, it is the education of how to become more and more aware. Try a little experiment: the next time you feel moody, emotional or angry, close your eyes and focus all your attention on your feelings. Do this a few times and you will realize that you are something other than them. Normally you are identified with your anger, feelings, moods and so on - that is why you are carried away and forget everything else. Buddha referred to it as wrong meditation. Right meditation is to stand apart and watch them. That he called mindfulness. From,The Meditation Master enlightens us: "The Real Crisis"

~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
Psychology says that man is one-tenth conscious. What sort of being will he be if he develops the remaining nine-tenth of his consciousness? Every particle of existence is filled with consciousness. Atoms have been discovered to possess consciousness and they therefore move intelligently. Yogis have realised, through deep meditation, that the ultimate stuff of matter is consciousness. The only solution to all problems existing in the world as well as in the mind is awareness. It is this same awareness which makes a saint a saint, a wise man wise. Man lives because he is aware; though to a small degree, plants, stones, the whole existence are aware. Having acquired expanded awareness, man becomes wise, he knows the source of life, the raison d'κtre of his being. Only awareness brings understanding and only understanding engenders love. For that, Meditation is of paramount importance. From " AWARENESS "
Lifeis such a beauty, such an incredible source of power. Each human being is a universe in himself and yet see the result all-around from ignoring this ultimate truth! On the absolute plane, mind is Pure Consciousness, while on the relative plane it is a desire to grow, to expand and be itself. Desire springs from the mind because of itsnotion of separation from the one consciousness, which is its ultimate possibility. It is desire that has made it pass through innumerable animal and human bodies. In the human body, desire continues to draw the mind to the external world. Desire blinds themind; it pollutes the senses and leads to anger, greed, lust, hatred and jealousy. Practise of meditation allows the mind to get rid of such negative traits and lead the individual to peace, silence,harmony and health.
We may not be conscious of all this, but we can certainly see how society is becoming chaotic with the rise in criminality, theft, violence, family disputes, broken families and many other social problems. All these result from our state of being. If we are frustrated, unhappy, stressed and filled with jealousy, anger and soon, the society, which is made up of individuals like us, cannot be peaceful, loving and prosperous. So should we not seek to change thisstate of affairs? It is the duty of one and all to participate inbuilding a sane and peaceful society that will benefit all of us. Andfor that, we cannot simply wait for a miraculous turn of events. We have to start working on ourselves as we are the building blocks ofsociety; there is no other solution. The science of meditation provides us with innumerable techniques which are meant to purify our being through an expansion of consciousness.
Mindsetscan be changed when you know something about the mind. But even science is struggling in that endeavour. How then to change the mind? The reality is that mindset does not get changed by academic knowledge. What is required is a radical transformation or cleansing of all these three layers of our being – body, heart and mind. Instincts, habits, stupidity and evil cannot be eliminated by mere knowledge. They should be transformed by an expansion of consciousness. Only then a better person can find the day. The ultimate key is to become more and more aware. Virtue cannot be taught. It is an outcome of awareness. Here by awareness, it means an unceasing consciousness leading to deep understanding, not a shallow fleeting awareness based on external knowledge. There is a whole science to raise awareness, to know oneself better. Here, Meditation is the ultimate tool to sharpen awareness. From- Self-Education
Lifeis a great celebration, but to participate in it, one must be aware. How can a drunken person, who is nearly unconscious and has a falseperception, celebrate? Life is an invitation to cosmicconsciousness, it is consciousness. Religion is a science meant toincrease our level of consciousness. And that science is parexcellence, the science of Meditation. By Swami Paramananda –"Alcohol, what is wrong with that liquid?"
Sciencesays that the aim of all moving objects is to attain a state ofperfect rest. The science of Yoga teaches one to attain a state ofperfect peace and when peace becomes perfect, it is nothing butbliss. Mind you, peace is an inner affair – it is not the absenceof anything but the essence of everything. When thoughts and emotionsare transformed, they become silence or peace and the same becomesbliss. Meditation can be of great help. From Selfishness – thegreatest disease of Mankind "
"The most beautiful thing that one can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science," has said Albert Einstein.They say that it is bliss, consciousness, boundlessness and infinite peace. But how is bliss? How is consciousness, boundlessness orineffable peace? Can our mind grasp them? In only no mind state, can one perceive the subtle aspect of existence. Meditation is par Excellence is the key to the above. From"The Mystic and the Mystery " revealed by an Enlightened Meditation Master!
"The evolution of life starts from the tiny unicellular organism to reach the human being, but it seems that human existence is not the apex of organic evolution. Human existence has never been in such a boiling state as it is today. The reason is that the human mind knows fairly well that it is not satisfied with technological development and sensual pleasure. It has the intuition that something higher and more beautiful awaits it on the evolutionary path, yet it is confused as to what it is that makes it restless and frustrated. This is the reason why most of us like the masses. We also like vastness, which has always attracted us and at the same time has scared us. This is why many people like to go to the top of mountains, they have the sensation of the infinite sky. Also, the vast sea attracts us. One thing is certain: the mind is seeking eternal pleasure and relaxation. One will then be led to ask: " What is the way out? " Only the experience of the Whole can quench the thirst of all desires. In fact, when the Whole is tasted, desires disappear. How to taste it? It is through deep meditation. From "COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS -The Culmination of Human Evolution" - By an Enlightened Meditation Master
